Peter J. Thornton
Peter J. Thornton was born, raised, and still lives in Providence, RI. He received his BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. Peter has been producing beautiful art of one sort or another for over 30 years, including children’s books, greeting cards, and fine art prints. Most noteworthy is his Everybody Cooks Rice series and A Natural Man, the True Story of John Henry published by August House. Peter is currently working on a limited series of Giclée prints of scenes of his hometown.
When not drawing, Peter can be found teaching spin class, playing ping pong, raising money for his local YMCA, singing baritone with various groups, or playing guitar. He lives with his wife Barbara in a renovated 1869 worker cottage next to the house in which he was born.
